Smith and Wesson, By Amazon Verified Purchase The Watch caught my eye with the cunning nite glow in all the advertisements!But to my surprise when I received my watch I put it in total darkness to see the awesome briteness of it, but it was'nt there!!! Wow the advertisement showed a super brite glowing watch and all I was holding was a very dimly lit watch that was hard to make out what I was seeing? Well I called a manufacturer of the watch and they said your eye's have to adjust to it before the glow comes out!!! NICE!!! A friend of mine ordered the Tracer military tritium Watch and we did a comparison "WOW" I guess you get What you pay for! His Watch was Ten times as bright and as soon as you put in darkness it was there for the eyes to see with no waiting for eye to adjust!!! As others have said, the glow is not nearly as bright as in the picture. Being a firearms aficionado, I've had some experience with tritium in gun sights, so I understand it's limitations somewhat. I suppose there may indeed be brighter watches out there, but do you really NEED them that bright? For me, I have no trouble seeing the markers in any light (or lack thereof).It should be noted, the second hand and the dot on the bezel are NOT tritium, but standard glow-in-the-dark paint. It serves well enough though, it charges quickly and glows quite brightly. Also, it may have just been my watch, but the color of the case and band was not silver as in the pic, but a dark matte gray with white markings on the bezel. Actually reading the watch itself, it seems to have a TITANIUM case and band! I've got macular degeneration, and the brightness at 3:00 a.m. is first-rate.No watch is perfect in all areas. There is probably one that is brighter, but at what cost? Or one that is more durable at the same cost, etc. But this one is a great combination of bright luminous markings and numbers (for my bad eyes), accuracy, durability, style, and price. Basically, a top-notch value without breaking the bank. Have treated it roughly, smacking into concrete block, door jambs, auto engine components, and it has never failed. It has banged into numerous hard objects, and I have dropped it, but no damage and no scratches on the crystal. Keeps outstanding time, as verified against US Naval Observatory website. Regards the negative comments on this model watch and other S&W models, on mine the tritium lighting is outstanding.
