Invicta's 1799 Russian Diver Multifunction watch has heft and is easy to read. It looks large from the photos but the actual watch is even bigger than I'd expected. It's heavy - you feel it when it's on. The wristband is plastic, but heavy and thick plastic that seems sturdy. It's nearly twice as thick as my Tag Heuer's strap.As to telling time, the face is easy to read - in the dark and presumably underwater. The watch has several dials: the large one for telling time and four smaller ones. The smaller ones show the day of the month, day of the week, seconds, and another feature that I haven't fully figured out yet. I don't think it would actually work as a dive watch because it doesn't have a feature that you can use to keep track of how long you've been underwater. Another thing that stands out is that the watch been configured for left-handed men. Overall, it's a thick, heavy, shiny and quite masculine but I'm not sure that it can be used for actual... This watch is larger than average and has a very nice appearance on the wrist. It looks rugged but also sleek to where you could wear it anywhere. The band is rubber and stainless and the face is mostly purple with tons of glow in the dark accents. This is an extremely nice watch for the money and looks quite a bit more expensive than the current price. No issues with it holding the date/time as it should. Invicta's 1799 Russian Diver Multifunction watch came packaged in a nice yellow presentation box with a well laid out information booklet. I was taken aback by the price tag of $595.00 and laughed a bit at anyone who pay that amount without first looking through Amazon.com at the various Invicta watches. It just so happens that a very good friend of mine collects Invicta watches so I had him give this one the once over before I demoed it. The first thing he noticed is that it's for left handed individuals. But with that being said he really liked the watch and thought the selling price of under $90.00 on Amazon was a great deal.The wristband is plastic, but very heavyweight and perfect for hitting the water. I'm not a scuba diver, but my I'm sure this model would do OK under water up to a point, and that point is there is nothing on it to tell you how long you've been underwater.
