It's usually referred to as the "Desert Storm" model, as it has a commemorative watch back with dog tags commemorating the Gulf War. When I first saw the stem on the left side of the watch, I assumed it was for lefties. When I put the watch on the first time I understood perfectly. With the watch as big as it is, if the stem were on the right side it would limit wrist movement. (I've had other large watches scratch or cut my wrist when I bent it far back. The "camo" face are individual pieces (it appears) pieced together to give it a "3-D" appearance. I love "complications" (sub dials) on a watch, but this watch is for rugged use (like the hunter who wrote one of the other reviews). It does have a date feature. Its screw down stem assures that it is water resistant and has a small chain to prevent loss, which also adds to its rugged appearance. I have at least a dozen Invictas. They were all an incredible value. (I particularly like the Sub Aqua Noma style.)... The size is th reason I ordered it. I love the design and the people that have seen it think it is a great looking watch. I was not a fan of the rubber watch band but it is very comfotable. It is a very simple and straight forward time piece. The weight is somthing that took a bit of getting use to. I would recommend this to anyone interested in collecting a large watch. The ffit and finish are great. The picture does not do it justice. |
