I would guess they use the same movements which are pretty reliable, and it looks like all they have done is re-branded the Dial. Solid stainless steel, nicely finished. Doesn't look like a cheap watch at all. I wanted a simple, minimalist watch, with some size to it, and this one is perfect. I would even do without the date, but one can't have everything.When I opened the box, the watch looked even better than its photos. If the watch didn't say Armitron on it, it could pass for a watch costing >$500. The strap is nice enough, but very thick, and wasn't comfortable at all. But I found an inexpensive leather strap at a local watch shop that goes well with the watch, so now it's even more perfect. You might like the strap that the watch comes with. Give it a few days. It feels quite solid with a look of quality stainless steel far in excess ot its very modest cost. I was particularly impressed by the fact the second hand exactly matches the markings on the dial which is often not the case with cheaper priced watches. I've had the watch about three weeks and have traveled all over Morocco with it. So far, its Japanese movement has been dead-on accurate, not gaining or losing even a second! I gave it four stars only because the date window appears a little small for the size of the watch and the fact the rubber watchband it came with is so bulky it is not really functional (I replaced mine with a leather band). Otherwise, this is an exceptional timepiece at an exceptional price. |
